>>>Since I have a lot of questions, here's another - every episode of "TAGS"
has a person listed in the credits at the end with the title of "Script
Continuity". I've always wondered exactly what this means, since there are
a number of things in the scripts whic
Hmm... I wrote a rather lengthy reply to Joe regarding his question about
script continuity right after I read it in the digest. So imagine my
disappointment when it didn't appear at all! I saw others' replies but not my
own. This has happened before, and I don't know why. Maybe
A BIG error in script continuity was Barney's hair while 'reciting' the
Preamble to the Constitution, unless Barney had a hair-combing compelsion
and kept combing his hair. This could have been editing, but it adds more
little humor to the scene. Elizabeth in Ga
Script continuity is concerned with making sure everything in a shot matches
when the camera angle changes. They made no attempt to keep details consistent
from episode to episode.
The Andy Griffith Show was shot with one camera, like a movie. Many TV shows
use three cameras at once
Joe, "Script Continuity" refers to a single script, the script they are
working on at the present time.Back in the 60's, very little thought was
given to the script from show to show.Their thinking was that most people
would forget the little inconsistencies that occurred
Hi Joe,
Regarding script continuity, I believe that the responsibility may be for the
continuity within each story, rather than across story arcs. The person in
charge of that makes sure that certain shots have consistent features and are
tied together with the rest of the story.

together. Now, if
they were to suddenly have an episode where Barney is dating Helen and Andy
being married with no one asking "Wonder what causes that.", THAT would NOT be
continuity.
A quick search reveals there is much more to the job than keeping track of

I think I may have noticed another continuity error that may not have been
mentioned before. In Mr. McBeevey at the 20.18 point Andy lights a
cigarette and is smoking. He then leaves but hasn't a cigarette with him
and at no time do we see him put it down. Now there is a very quite shot
At the 3:20 mark, Barney's handcuffs disappear.

Well old Ken spotted the continuity error in the episode Andy The Matchmaker.
If you notice when Barney comes into the courthouse, he has a pair of
handcuffs hanging out of his left front pocket. While he is turning in
everything, you can see the handcuffs several times. Then the camera
Wow Paul, I never thought about checking the model of the car.you're
good.especially when you can't see the new model very well.
I also noticed Andy's belt position keeps changing. When he gets Otis in the
house the cases are in the back again. Then when he goes to the kitchen he
belt is off
I think the continuity error in Andy the Matchmaker is with Barney's
handcuffs. He gives Andy all his equipment except for the handcuffs but
then we suddenly see Barney and he doesn't have the handcuffs on his belt.
At least that is what these old eyes saw.

For Pauls continuity error question.
Let me take a stab at your question. Could it be the belt packs on Andy's Belt
being in one place in one scene and another place in a latter shot ?

REF: make a game out of it. It happens during the first five minutes of Aunt
Bee the Warden
I had actually not noticed the differences in the accessories on Andy's belt.
Good catch, but that's not the one I'm thinking of.
OK, I'll just go ahead and tell you. Probably everyone knows that the Mayberry
squad car was always the latest model Ford sedan. At some point in the middle

There is a much bigger continuity error at the very beginning of Episode #7,
Andy The Matchmaker, where Barney comes into the courthouse to resign for the
very first time. It is similar to the error in Aunt Bee The Warden.See
if you can see what it is before I am forced to tell you
Andy's gun belt is oriented differently from scene to scene, but the old
heater is always right there on his hip. I had to watch the opening scenes
a few times to actually catch it. That's a good 'un; thanks, Paul!

It happens during the first five minutes of Aunt Bee the Warden and
here's a hint, it has to do with police equipment. Put in your DVD (season
two) or find the episode on Netflix and see if you can spot what I'm talking
about.
Good one Paul. I think it's Andy's pistol belt cases. At 1:09 the 3
It's fun to try to spot continuity errors while watching TAGS. This topic came
up recently on Allan's podcast. Probably the most famous one is when Barney's
hair goes from being neatly combed to messed up and back again while trying to
recite the Preamble. Too bad they didn't have Schoolhouse
I totally agree with Jerome Graber's comments about continuity. Another
thing is characters who show up out of the blue and you never hear about
them again. Lucy Matthews, Ed Sawyer (one of my favorites!) Quiet Sam,
Frances (Franky the farmgirl), Mary (andy's girlfriend), O'Malley

Did any ever notice how Andy and the gang can have a whole episode about a
particual activity (bowling for example)yet never mention it again?
You never hear Andy say to Helen I can't go out tonight because I have to--go

You'll find in the re-released Sleeping Beauty some footage showing them using
Aunt Bee as a model for one of the fairies; it was very cute. I have noticed
many lapses in contunity over the years but I don't believe they had someone
assigned to this function back in those days like they do
