Hi,
I may be wrong but to the best of my knowledge WiTango opens a connection to
the DB once and keeps it open for the duration of the action. So the loop
does not create a new connection for every insert.
You are incorrect. By default (Wi)tango opens a single connection to a

Definately correct, WiTango opens a single connection to the datasource.
However, in the case of some databases (MS SQL, Pervasive SQL) the database
engine will open more than one connection to the data file(s).
In my experience, when WiTango opens that database connection, the database

Hello Larry,
Ususally, this means that the server is trying to
handle too many requests, or there are too many sessions open to the
server.
So, if you have an ecommerce website and you had

Is there are restriction to the number of tables or databases (data source)
a taf can have open?
If so, is it related to the user session and not the taf?

Hi Jamileh,
The trick with downloading documents (example, a MS Word doc that is stored
server-side) with Witango (using the method I describe in my article) - is
that anything you add to the output of the TAF will interfer with the
content of the document you are trying to download.

Steve,
I have not run into any limits.
I have opened over 10 data sources, and a lot of tables w/o any problems.
I suspect there is a limit the the number of datasources, but I really don't
know.

I have just been playing with this for a few days but it looks good. Xplat

I have also the 30 day eval of XML spy Pro and while this interface is not
quite as nice it still seems user friendly and looks like it will do most of

Sorry to bother the list with this but I know there are some
Filemaker experts here. A client gave me a 400+ row membership database
8-9 cols. and expects me to port it over to Rbase. If I had an XLS or CSV
file I could do it no problem.
Do the FMP gurus know if FMP will export to other formats?
FMP can export to csv, tab, etc easily. Investigate the File menu and then Export. You pick the fields and the format and away you go.

Brian,
Haven't used Fpro for a while but it should be as simple as selecting
export, selecting which columns to export, and exporting the file in
a comma delimited or teb delimited format from Filemaker Pro and then
import into XLS - making sure that you establish the appropriate
field types in
