The Dev Studio does not access the odbc config files directly. The Dev
Studio communicates with the ODBC Driver Manager which in turn tries to
find the odbc.ini file. The odbc driver manager looks for the config
files in a set pattern until it finds an ini file. The easiest way to

I've no idea - but as a work around all I can suggest
is that you could use Fergal's download to excel thing

I used it to set up a cron job which pulled data from

Hi Chris
I am actually asking for authentication every time, but for some reason it
will not accept the authentication (I have not been able to authenticate
successfully once). I am thinking that when Dev Studio tries to access the
odbc source it is using a different ODBC config file somewhere. I

The path is correct. The cron file was
working for a long time after the upgrade.
I ran a couple of the tafs on the server's explorer
and they worked.

Did your path change when you upgraded?
I mean can you enter the URLs in the cron
file directly into the browser on the server and have them run?

Hi all,
I thought my cron problems were behind me when I
upgraded a few months ago. It was working well for several weeks.
Today, I noticed that it isn't working. I wrote several tafs that require
timed executions, so this is very disappointing for me.
I stopped and started the Witango
Hi Steve,
Not that I've deciphered your TAFs completely, but I see some things
worth noting in the "index.taf" file:

I am sorry to bug you..but you are the only one I know to ask about this
taf.
I have a taf that is doing an external lookup for IP, etc. I want to
compare that IP against IP's that are already in my table..
If it's there..then I want them to be kicked out..if it's not there,
then I want

Thanks for the responses. I don't specify an account and password when I set
the datasource within Witango. I just select ODBC and specify the ODBC name
with <@var <@var user$U_Site>$CatDSN>. It works fine when I have the DBs

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see why you needed to change the
permissions of the Witango Service if it was working fine before.

Gene,
Fistly, the email sent to the list by Diane was incorrect. I merely
corrected the fact that it wasn't me who was having problems with my
computer, but rather the VPN software you gave me which disabled my system.
