So the only for me to jig this would be to include the firewall IP as

Xmail while being a great mail server, has little documention for a novice
mail admin. I can be really confusing even after reading the rfc's. A few
of us started to redo
export MAIL_ROOT=/var/MailRoot
Though if your running xmail via rc.d, it should already be set.

When securing a XMail host running 'nix. How is allow/deny access to XMail

I need to be able to copy email sent to one user to another. Is this easy

Now I'm really confused. Not that I think this is a Xmail issuse. I am

I'm using two different Xmail servers with different domains/subnets/users

email is relayed through the first server to the second.
In the logs of the first I get RCPT=OK and RECV=OK

One last minor thing.. Its more of an Outlook question.
It seems that I don't have to set the Outgoing Mail Server Auth at all. It
seems it will do the smtp-pop3 auth without the consent of the user. Can

I've configured(?) Xmail for smtp auth via pop3, though it doesn't seem to
be functioning. Thus I must have made an error in my config.
If I understood the doc and listserv right.

Hey all,
I'm upgrading 1.0 to 1.3 and adding a .int to my domain name (M$ domain)
running linux (slackware8.0). Everything is working up to relaying mail
through it. The smtprelay.tab has the my subnet and was working before.
Have I missed something?

I know this method will work but I'm looking for a "global" way so that I don't have
enter each user/passwd twice and that only needs to be set once.
Actually I'm suprised Xmail is an open relay by default. Then again I suppose its
for inital flexablitiy.

Try starting xmail in debugging mode Xmail -Md, and put a peice of mail through that
should trigger the filter. This will tell you acutally is going on.
