Hi,
For two weeks I have been running an HP Pavillion N5495 laptop
(equipped with Intel 830MG chipset) with the latest CVS XFree86. I would
like to share my experiences and have some questions concerning various
parts of the driver.
Genrally I tried running the laptop with FBDev, VESA and the
Hi,
I have a Radeon and xvinfo gives me and Ximage size of 2048x2048. Is
this the largest size image I can scale? This post puts the fugure
around 1000 so I was confused. Further I have successfully tried
1920x1080 images but when I try to scale a 2048x1556 image I get a pink

Looks to me like UpdateCurrentTimeIf doesn't actually
update the current time. Shouldn't this function look like:
void
UpdateCurrentTimeIf()
{
TimeStamp systime;
systime.months = currentTime.months;
systime.milliseconds = GetTimeInMillis();

How does this affect Voodoo 5? Also, note that the only case I see a
problem is when switching resolutions - otherwise it's rock-solid.

Hi. I'm supposed to talk to vlad about this problem. I'm having
problems with my Xvideo driver(I think). Whenever I playback mpeg
video, the frames are cropped. I can only see the upper left hand
portion of the frame, and it is scaled to fill the window that it is
playing in. I have tried

I wish it was as simple as disabling the framebuffer in my case - I tried

If you want to try to reproduce this, try using xmms with the smpeg plugin

I have a Voodoo 3 and can see a similar problem when starting an

This application is Terminus, it switches very often the resolution

Hi,
Does anyone know whether NVIDIA will support visuals with overlay
planes in the near future? I have a GeForce2 Go card. Am I right in
assuming that the hardware could support a 24+8 visual but their
drivers just aren't capable yet?

Howdy George,
I can see two possibilities 1) XFree86 is getting mountains of X pointer
events and getting lost (seems unlikley) or 2) the elo touch driver is getting
confused.
I've just developed a touch driver for the 3M/Dynapro touch screens and in
it, I have logic that insures

Hi,
I have a RedHat 7.2 box that I use for my workstation and I run kde. I
administer a load of HPUX boxes and I would like to run a second X server
for some sessions on my HPUX boxes.
To do this I tried

It fired up a login prompt (ony Ctrl+Alt+F8) and I logged in fine. The H

Today, Mozilla hung while accessing a site, so I killed the mozilla

leaving me with a black screen and a prompt.
Typing "startx" brings up the error:

There exists a windoze registry hack for ATI radeon drivers to reduce
shimmering on trini/diamond tron monitors.
I use XFree86 on linux and find the shimmering quite obvious.
Are there any plans to include a similar fix/option in XFree86?
