It's pretty much like poledit on steroids. It does everything damnbastard says and
more. To the
point where even if you set in the BIOS to boot off floppy first, FullControl will
disable floppy
booting and go straight to Windows, You can restrict just about anything you want or
don't want a
user to be able to do on the pc. The single license is $60, but if used in offices
or schools, get
the multi user license, you can set up groups so each one is customized to do what you
let them.
It is a very cool piece of software. Check out the FAQ on the site for all the info.

I haven't been on this list too long, but I've been seen various emails
on all kinds of policy and lockdown and closing ports and limiting
physical access etc

How can a 1.5 MB piece of software that costs $60 secure Windows 9x?
For that matter how can that software work for Windows 9x, NT, and 2000?

I'm not challenging, I just don't understand how it works.

Try Full Control by Bardon Data Systems http://www.fullcontrol.com/

A school district I worked at had this software and it worked pretty
good. It's extremely configurable and can lock down almost anything
imaginable on a Win machine. It took me about a week to get past it,
but I doubt 99.9% of users would be able to.

I hope this would be the right place to post this. I've
tried numerous attempts and combinations of Google
searches but hopefully this group will provide me with
some better answers.

I am looking for software that will enable me to
lockdown Windows 98 desktops so that there is no
start button, no right click on the desktop, only allow
certain programs to be run (the shortcuts would be
on the desktop), no deleting of those icons on the
desktop, no loading or downloading of software, using
a web browser only to valid http https or ftp sites in
the address.

Any suggestions?
