My prose may have been a bit ambiguous, but what I meant was that I do 
not allow ssh through the firewall from any host on the net to any host 
inside. I have one point of entry for ssh into the internal network.

Telnet is not allowed on my network, nor is rlogin / rsh.

That is true. In a few cases, you might be intentionally targeted. In 
most, you will not.

Your points are well-taken, and I think that we were arguing from 
different sides of the issue.
