Personally, I have always been very happy with the SecureDelete function in Kremlin (http://www.kremlinencrypt.com/). It can wipe free space, slack space, both or securely delete an entire drive. You can also specify the number of passes etc- I think 35 is the amount recommended by Peter Gutmann, for those who are really paranoid.
PGP also has a secure erase utility that works quite well. I've often wondered if secure deletion would be any more effective if the entire drive was encrypted first, then "securely deleted"- Any thoughts?
