Hello all, I have a '92 Sentra SS (GA16DE). I don't encounter the
overheating problem, but I did encounter the stalling. My engine stalls
whenever the AC compressor goes off-line (RPM would drop way below 500 and
dies 3 out of 5 times on average). Also stalls when I make sudden stops. A
techie (who works at a Nissan service center) taught me how to cure this
because during the mid 90's, this was a recurring problem. I'm sorry, I'm
not a mechanic so I don't know what you call the sensors, valves, servos,
and all those hoollahs... I can only give you a rough idea where it is
located under the hood, so bear with me.

When facing the engine, look at the intake manifold. Now look at its left
side (directly above the oil filler cap), in line with that little servo
motor thingy. There's a black screw. The screw is actually flushed with the
intake manifold assy. Now, I don't know what it's called nor do I know what
it does, all I know is after playing around with it, I found the sweet spot
wherein the engine would NEVER stall, EVER.... whether the compressor would
kick-on, kick-off, make sudden stops, etc. I made this adjustment more than
a year ago and haven't found a need to touch it ever since.

To all you 'pro' mechanics, please enlighten me on what I just did...

Thanks,
OrlyP
