I could be wrong but I certainly never heard of that being
the policy. I think you are just seeing personal preferences
of whoever integrated those (and in particular, those probably
came over from ON long ago in one chunk so the RE quite
probably did it the way he wanted :)
It's ok, and I wouldn't stop you from doing it, it's just
bothered me for a while that some are install-sfw and
some are install-guesswhaticalledit. And having had to
edit most of them somewhat recently it's still annoying
me :)
