Gasoline has too many additives. And it stinks. And I believe it will
eventually damage the rubber compounds. I've used camping fuel for about 25
years or so and have yet to have a problem. I tried paint thinner, liquid
soap, mineral spirits, rubber cement, and , yes, gasoline. Camping fuel
works for me. Not a lot of odor, dries fast and it doesn't hurt the grips.
So far no problems at all.
