I wouldn't call the problems horrible, but I sure wish I had a free,
linux-useable dialup account to back up RR for the couple times (two in 4+
months) that I've been unable to get out to get my mail.

well, I thought not, and I've been genereally very happy with RR (see
above).  But, depending on your location in Austin, apparently, your
service can vary (my brother's outage was 4 days when he moved, wasn't
truly out but you can't use a connection that gives you 20+% ping loss to
RR machines).

The nice thing about ADSL, is that as long as the problem you're having 
is not with SWBell's line, you can just switch ISPs (well, choices are
currently limited but that could change, at least you have a choice).
