It's an interesting discussion, but in terms of start-up camp, both Bart and myself hold the same view: they are throw away startups. This same thinking has also been communicated to me by other figures in our community whose opinion I can count on like like Mike Cannon-Brookes of Atlassian and Stephen Kelly of SJK Consulting/Peepel/Faraday Media. However, something does need to be developed to not hinder the motivations of people, and to account for good ideas with potential. Whilst I like your proposal Sjors, maybe we need a bit more education as well and perhaps structure these events so that they are crippled in a sense, so that we don't lost sight on the actual goal: people experiencing the process, not necessarily achieving the outcome.
