Hi Scott,

Congratulations on the big move.

I moved at the beginning of this year. My office is in Santa Clara and we
(Andra and I, three kids, two cats) moved into Pleasanton. It's pretty much
perfect from a family point of view - barring a lack of Maker Sheds - and
distance to (cold) beaches. The school district is very good, and
importantly has no bad schools. The commute can be a pain. By car, best case
is 40 minutes to Santa Clara, but during peak hour at least an hour, and
during winter on Fridays, half of the valley seems to be taking my commute
up to the snow, so can be very slow on Fridays. That said, if you have some
control over when you travel, and can work from home, it's fine. There is
also a commuter train depending on where you're headed (Altamont Commuter
Express - three trains up and three trains down).

I'm sure you're aware that much of the value of the valley is networking, so
you'll need couple of evenings a week down in Palo Alto, San Francisco, etc
at whichever event is going.

Let me know if you'd like to chat.

Cheers,
Michael
