Hi folks, I wanted to introduce myself as well. I'm a software developer that will be moving to Sydney in February from Canada. For most of my professional life I've been programming in C# ( from WPF client side apps to WCF services, ASP.NET MVC web apps and anything in between ). On the side ( whenever there's time to spare ), I dabble in Linux and try to stay current with what's happening on that front ( nowadays Golang and Rust have caught my attention ).
To get my feet wet in Australia, I was thinking of quickly putting together an online service for doctors/dentists/other professionals that would allow them to setup SMS/voice reminders for their patients of upcoming appointments ( it can potentially save their assistants time since they won't need to make a bunch of calls to their patients 2 days in advance ). And I must admit, I had a bit of a shock when researching SMS prices in Australia compared to North America or Europe :) Anyway, it's great to be here and it'll be great to be in Sydney soon.
