Hi Bogdan, I too receive messages from my dentist, hairdresser, etc. They have an automated YES/NO response system where by I can confirm my attendance. I wouldn't have the slightest idea about what the systems are called though - it is not specified in the SMS.
My team and I are working on a system which we believe could be the next iteration of this - video messaging. Think Vine/Instagram/Keek for the enterprise. We are primarily using it in the health/fitness space with Pilates and gym instructors (they can build up a library of expercises, and then send them out to clients as required), but I can see as application in the space you're talking about.
