My point exactly. Either an iPad or an Android device are 'good enough'
even today. Extrapolating where this particular trend goes is not very
difficult. More solid state bits, way better display, even longer battery
runtimes.

And don't try reading a 100+ MByte color PDF or DJVU on a Kindle.
Nevermind that a DIY library will be most likely have a web interface,
with WLAN or 3/4G access.
