Leslie-

Your magnesium chloride isn't melting, it is hygroscopic, meaning it pulls
water to itself, it's pulling it out of the air, and it is turning into a
slurry. You must keep it well sealed and some containers work much better
than others at that.

Mag chloride does not do so well as an oral supplement. There are several
forms of magnesium that are better for oral use, the easiest, cheapest form
to get and take is magnesium citrate, available for a good price at
www.msm-msm.com. There are other forms that work better but will also cost
you more such as orotate and glycinate. Citrate gives you a lot of bang for
your buck.

Chloride form is better used as "magnesium oil" where you dilute it in 2 or
3 parts of water and rub it on, or use it for foot or whole body soaks;
magnesium chloride is best used transdermally.

I am familiar with how mag chloride can actually cause muscle spasms and
have had it to do that to my heart. That may be related to how other
chlorides will do the same thing but I don't know that. BTW your spasms may
be an indication of a need for the other three primary elements, sodium,
potassium or calcium, or may be a need for water.

OK, I'll let the cat out of the bag now, without much explanation yet, but
magnesium bicarbonate is BY FAR the BEST way I have yet taken magnesium,
with the best results and so far no bad side effects, especially no laxative
effect. It also is the CHEAPEST. I'm sure I'll eventually find the downside
but right now it's real good for me.

Recipe:

One liter of pure carbonated (seltzer) water, no other minerals or
sweeteners added. Generic is fine.
One bottle of Milk of Magnesia (MoM), generic is fine.
3 gallons (3- 1 gallon jugs) of drinking water, distilled is not necessary
(unless you're a calcium magnet like me, and most women are not) but it must
not be chlorinated and fluoridated.

Chill seltzer for 2-3 hours minimum.

After chilling the seltzer, don't shake it, uncap, add 3 tablespoons of MoM,
cap it, shake well, set it down. For the next 30 minutes shake it a bit
every time you see settlement, do this it until it clears.

Measure out ONE THIRD, 330 milliliters, and mix that into one gallon, or 3
liters + 660 ml. of drinking water. You need a container that holds over a
gallon for this.

Drink to your heart's content (literally, because it's waaaay good for the
heart) you'll find it surprisingly sweet tasting, but you better not go
anywhere important unless you can get to a bathroom for the first few hours.

After the initial flood of urination, the ionic magnesium begins to
penetrate your whole body and you will actually gain weight from
rehydration. Also, if you have anything that hurts, for a day or two it may
hurt worse while being detoxed.
