Gone where, and how? CS kills pathogens by inhibiting the enzyme required for oxygen metabolism, and by binding with the electron rich SH groups of the cell wall and from there binding with the DNA (or is it RNA) disabling the reproduction of the cell. In these cases the cell is not destroyed is it, the cell remains but is deactivated. How can a particle many times smaller than the pathogen destroy it. To be destroyed the pathogen must be subjected to the cleaving and disposal abilities of specialised enzymes (macrophages) which are called into action by other components of the immune system(antigens), which identify, lock on to sites on the pathogen in a fail safe, cascading method. The disabled pathogen may release toxins during this process, and the action of enzymes in the immune system when dealing with large numbers of invaders is generally accompanied by an elevation in temp etc.,hence one feels lousy. But as far as I know it is the immune system which must identify and dispose of any foreign bodies, dead or alive. > My sister who works at a hospital was given a flu shot earlier this year > with every one of the doctors and nurses. The CS took it out before the body even knew it was there. Does that mean the vaccine was ineffective? Maybe I'm wrong, but I do believe that the vaccine was still there and it was the immune system that eliminated it. <Snip> No, CS does not disable the organism's ability to reproduce, that is > tetracycline and related drugs. No doubt some organisms are killed outright but surely the inability to reproduce or metabolise is just another form of death. How long does it take for the immune system to deal with such disabled cells? Regards - Ivan -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
