Great concept, great circuit, and great write-up.  I may eventually try this.

Do you have any trouble forming other compounds such as Ole Bob is always 
talking about? NO3, I guess, and anything else?

Do you recommend using nail polish or something to insulate around the 
electrodes at the water interface?
