Scarlet fever has been known to do that with temps in excess of 107.
I had Scarlet fever as a kid but no damage at 105 and 106.
The folks watched closely, ready with the aspirin and ice bath [Docs
instructions back in the fifties..back when they still made house calls],
but didn't need to use them.
