Hi Jonathan, I have put it on my skin, because nothing else would give relief when I was getting an itchy spot, the more I scratched the more it itched until it would be raw and then it would itch some more. Tried all sorts of things nothing would stop the itch. So I finally tried the WD40 on it and it relived the itch considerably. Tha was over a year ago. I have since discovered the itch was due to a wheat(bread) alergy at the time. I stopped the wehat and the itch stopped. doesnt happen any more now. I heard the WD40 has varnish or laquer in it and maybe fish oil. Not good to use on guns as it builds up a residue
