Hi Ruth,
The cabbage would cause a lot of gas. If you are up to it, you might try a
stalk of celery again with an apple with the carrots. It will help to
balance out the sodium and potassium levels. You may get a little cramping
as your colon starts to clear-up, however. You can't get progress without
cleaning out your system. I am sure it is painful and discouraging at times.
The surgeon can usually be expected to recommend surgery because that is his
training, experience, and knowledge. Is there a holistic or naturopathic
doctor you could see before going under the drastic solution?

My neighbor has Crones Disease. They were recommending the surgery to her
also. She was very determined though and started juicing. She was a real
mess to begin with. She juiced the celery, carrots, and apple for 3 days and
didn't eat anything else but the Essiac Tea that I gave her. She had a lot
of cramping but on the 2nd day she started cleaning out her system and was
amazed, but after that she started progressing and she is now better than
ever. She was sitting over there drugged-up on pain medication for years
before she started juicing. She has quit the medication altogether now. She
only has set-backs when she gets busy and neglects her diet, juicing, and
runs out of tea.

Hang in there Ruth. We are all rooting for you and want you to get better.
Paula
