Multiple Mail server help

I have 2 primary mailservers - SIMS & AMS. Both have MX records with same priority to the same domain. I am trying to use SIMS as a backup, but I have a problem.
The MX records are:
MX 10 mail.domain.com
MX 10 mail2.domain.com
MX 20 mail3.domain.com

My question is - the 1st primary server has a router entry domain.com = mail.domain.com.
I am having problems since adding the 2nd primary server. Should that router entry be taken out?
