Hi Christiaan,

I am a new member to the list. Thanks for looking into this feature. I have
tried out your sample version and have a few comments.

No. Entering Fullscreen mode works in the sense that full-screen mode is
activated and the window gains its own Space. However, exiting does not work.
The window remains orphaned in its space, and something odd happens. We are
returned to the main Desktop Space but no Dock or Menu bar is displayed. The
maximized document does not come back to the original Space.

There are quite a few other issues. I will list them all, even the cosmetic
ones (since this is a Mac app after all...)

When Full-screen mode is cancelled, the app does not return to the original
Space. Instead, something odd happens - the menu bar and dock remain missing.
Also the active document is no longer in the foreground.

When full-screen mode is activated, the PDF is not filling the screen. Instead
the main part of the window remains the same size, and the rest of the screen
is filled with Apple's default fabric background.

In Apple Full-screen apps, sliding the mouse pointer to the bottom of the
screen invokes the Dock. This does not work in your test version.

The toolbar in the fullscreen version looks weird. The colour scheme is
blackened and not the same as the usual toolbar.

> * do you get a smooth animation back and forth?

Yes - but the wrong one. This transition animation is not the one other apps
use. In Apple's apps, and others, the windows "zooms" to fill the screen and
zooms back down again when full screen is cancelled. Here, there is a slide
animation instead. A minor point, but confusing for users expecting a unified
experience.

> * do you get the sliding side panels??

Yes this works. They slide in when the mouse pointer is in the right place. But
their visibility seems independent of whether they were visible in the
non-Fullscreen window. This ought to not change when one changes to Fullscreen
- i.e. if they were visible before they should stay visible.

> * do you see secondary windows (anchored notes, snapshots) in full screen
> mode?

Yes.

I hope the feedback is useful. I'm a long time user of Skim, and find it an
invaluable app.

Cheers,

Dan
