Well I'd imagine the ZERO_VECTOR origin assumption should be baked in as long as llGetRegionCorner() in global co-ords always corresponds to ZERO_VECTOR in local co-ords.

Otherwise I'd recommend llGetRegionDimensions() return [<x,y,z>,<a,b,c>] where a refers to how far away the point of origin is from llGetRegionCorner()- if a 512x512 sim had a point of origin in the center, so that llGetPos() would return values betwee <-256,-256,0> and <256,256,4096>, <a,b,c> would be <128,128,0>. Similar future proofness for stacking sims vertically, <0,0,1024|2048|4096|etc.>.

Assuming that there's no issue with dropping lists in as global constants, something such as REGION_DIMENSION_CLASSIC would return [<256,256,4096>,ZERO_VECTOR], enabling any current script to do a quick check of if(llGetRegionDimensions() == REGION_DIMENSION_CLASSIC){ // use old code }else {// put new code here, or warn of potential borkage }
