Mark, broadcast is required for ARP request and if the client do not get response back from the gateway, so that could be problem.

I have had 30 units online since January...with all working superbly. 1. I use only static IPs (both sB unit and client computer on same subnet) 2. I do not use any grounding. I am in the process of deploying 30 more (newly acquired) units. I will let you know if I run into any problems. Side Note: I recently put a rule in my firewall that stops broadcast pings from my clients. Since then, I have had some problems with clients not able to surf the net?? I am thinking...and I don't know yet...but I am thinking that the broadcast ping is needed for the client to talk to the gateway??? I am always able to ping the wireless device and client computer...just the client cant surf the net. Sounds like a DNS issue...but it is not. I think it is something with the pings I am blocking at the firewall (prior to the gateway).??? Maybe SB could put a grounding lug on the bottom of the outdoor units...
