Alex, This is a new deploy, so there is no clients connected yet. But we do have two aPPO connected to the downstream side of the link (w/ a 5 port switch) with a possibility of having about 8 clients each.... Not a lot by any stretch...

How many clients is behind this airBridge? This seems to be Mac cache issue but can't figure out which device is causing it. aB does have internal Mac table to contain the different PC Mac & IP address behind it. When it happened, beside pinging the gateway, can it ping any other machine in your NOC like DNS, NMS machine? Does this happen to this airBridge only? At the NOC, can you sniff whether the traffic is coming in? Hmmm... Well...I am not running DHCP...only static IPs. If the IP dropped, wouldn't it NOT allow him to ping the airBridge on the roof? I had him click REPAIR on his NIC connection, but that didn't do the trick. The only thing that allowed the aB to start passing traffic again from his desktop was a power reset for the aB. Both desktop and laptop are Win XP. Really weird...I hope I don't have to replace the unit. Does the aB hold an arp table? I know he has the same IP in both his desktop and his laptop. I also know that they are not both plugged into the Ethernet cable at the same time. Sounds like a lost ip address. Have you hade the client run IPCONFIG /ALL from the command line to see if it still has it settings? Is your DHCP lease time set to 24 hours? Try setting it to 7-8 days. If all else fails try to repair the connection using NBTSTAT -R. The last step, replace the NIC. (Well, I may have skipped over some steps :-) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of The Wirefree Network Sent: Friday, July 25, 2003 8:53 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [smartBridges] airBridge stops passing traffic??? I have a new airBridge installed at a customer's home (June purchase with upgraded firmware). It has been online 3 days and has lost it's ability to surf the net once a day since then. 1. I am ALWAYS able to ping/monitor/configure the device from the wireless side. So...it is NOT losing association. 2. The client is ALWAYS able to ping/monitor/configure the device from the wireless side. So...it is not losing Ethernet. 3. However, about once a day, the client can no longer ping my gateway, nor surf the net. FIX ACTION: Power Reset...and whammo...back online. ODD TWIST: If he disconnects the Ethernet cable from the Desktop and plugs it into his laptop, he is back on the net instantly without a power reset. Plug it back into his Desktop and he still cant surf. Any ideas????
