Okay, this afternoon I upgraded the firmware of the aPPO to the latest, set it to repeater mode and BOOM, down went the whole network again. Unplug the repeater and the network comes back up. So this isn't going to work, I'm not going to keep knocking my customers off that AP while I diddle with equipment. I have a pigtail or two that was made for the aB indoor, another made for the Demarc wireless card, is there maybe a wireless router I could pick up at a retail store that one of these pigtails will fit? If so, I can get the signal at the remote location and pipe it down to my display using normal consumer gear. Other than that, I don't think I can get the link to work. I have another brand new aPPO, but it won't work worth a damn, so that's out.

I've been seeing others really dissing sB on the list and thought they were extreme. Now the case becomes a bit muddier.

I'm new to having an aPPO in repeater mode, but it's what I need to have a booth at the county fair and demonstrate wireless internet. No way to get a link directly from the main AP at the space available, but only a few hundred yards away I can get a usuable signal. So I put in an aPPO and tried it in repeater mode. I had trouble associating an aBO with it and then found out that the whole network had gone down when I tried it. I took the repeater offline and the main aPPO came right back to life.

I tried it slightly more methodically the next time and made sure at each step the network was working properly. I first put the aPPO in client/bridge mode and got some really good speed tests. I was doing fine at nearly the full speed of my T1, so I switched it into repeater mode and made sure that everyone was able to still surf, no problems. Everything was A-Okay. So I went to the area where my display would be and tried associating to the main AP through the repeater and it went silky smooth. Then I tried a few speed tests, the first two or three went well, but then it started slowing down and then came to a halt. And the whole network came to a halt as well. I had to unplug the repeater aPPO to get the network back on line. What am I doing wrong here?

How is this repeater bringing down the main AP???
