That's no problem at all, I'm happy to try to debug this. (Actually
(1) happened for me earlier today, but I needed to shut down the
phone, so I copied the logs from /tmp to /tmp/save, so that they
wouldn't be overwritten on next startup... but unfortunately I forgot
that the whole of /tmp would disappear :-).)

I will try to get logs here too. Currently I have not tried to
disable e17's handling of the PWR button, and I haven't commented out
the "Suspend Handling" section in
/etc/freesmartphone/oevents/rules.yaml (as install.sh does), so

- when suspend works for me, I see the e17 power-off/lock/suspend menu
pop up, and then a second later the phone suspends

- when suspend doesn't work for me, I see the e17
power-off/lock/suspend menu pop up, and nothing else, i.e. the phone
stays on.

I think that's a good idea. No one is running phone stress tests. :-)

For appearance I prefer zhone, but the other criterion is which UI is
the better reference code. Would you say that the shr UI is better
for that than zhone?
