Curiously I had a similar problem - but I plugged it into my wife's Windows PC. That brought it to life and I was able to get it to work on my Mac again. So that might be worth a try (not my wife's of course!). LaCie have a very good exchange policy (via their web site). So if you can get it to work and get the contents off I'd get them to exchange it (you don't have to send the old one back till you receive the new one from them). Good luck! Derek
