I don't know about that..but I guess they would know..but I don't think it would be painless or fast...just dragging it out. Increase the pain meds and do it that way.
I am sure if they wanted to starve a death row inmate, there would be all kinds of outcry about that...instead of lethal injection. So, how can it not be more humane to end the life of a comatose/vegatative person a different way. Of course the body shuts down. That is what happens when you don't feed it.
