I thought I'd ask this here since the 14MZ is brought up. I've been trying to work with Futaba service on this issue for a while now and have not heard anything back. I have 2 of the 14MZ's. The first one I got had the touch screen problem where it would not recognize at a normal pressure touch. I didn't bother to send it in cause I didn't want to be without a radio. By the time I got around to picking up a second 14MZ, a year had passed and when I called futaba service they told me it would be ~$200 to replace since its out of warranty.
Last year, on the 14mz website a Futaba rep posted a comment on the forum that the screens would be replaced free of charge because it is a known Futaba prob. I emailed and called and was told "no, we've not heard of the issue. Since then I've not heard from any Futaba Service rep regarding the matter. I was told to just send it in and we'll look and determine then. The radio is as new as day 1. It has been a backup and so it's been on the back burner. Now it has become my 2.4G radio and it's a pain to use the scrolling button to get to all the menus. Any team Futaba member can comment on this issue. Thanks. Oh yeah, when I called and spoke to someone last, made me feel like it was my fault and that somehow I damaged the screen L. It's a pretty common problem based on the reports from the 14mz forum.
