If you really feel like reinstalling an OS, reinstall windows 7, you will get a performance increase because it's a fresh install and you will get all the fun of reinstalling all of your programs but you won't get the crap that is windows 8 in the process. Don't waste your time or money on windows 8, it's just not worth it.
