To be consistent I have to keep the existing names. They's just tokens in a certain context.

Unless I rewrite history of course. If anyone's noticed the times I've done it, no one's piped up.

RIpping out the issue tracker stuff into a separate repo complete with each's git history was surprisingly easy - I guess someone has needed to do this before and had the tits to write it. git filter-branch if I remember correctly.

Good points. They want READMEs too.

ffmpeg.exe -- optional external program from "ffmpeg.org" used to decode some
obscure audio file formats not supported natively

sox_ng.exe -- main EXE of SOX

wget.exe -- optional external program from "https://www.gnu.org/software/wget";
used to fetch input files from the internet (instead of from local storage)

soxformat_ng.pdf -- list of supported file formats

Thanks

Question: where did you get the binary of WGET? Did you compile it yourself?

I built it with MXE:

Install everything it needs, git clone it, make wget. Copy exe from usr/i686-w*/bin/.

There has not been any working Win32 binary of WGET available for many years:
I am doubly happy then. You can build a zillion things from sed to audacity.

See wiki/Distro-MXE.md

Happy Christmas :)
