I find that *very* surprising.   Residential customers, at least, have a HOWTO
on speakeasy's website that explains how to request PTR records.  I'd be more
inclined to think that the salesperson you talked to didn't understand what you
were asking.  Either that, or they just meant that they don't delegate
responsibility for reverse DNS.  They'll do it, but they won't let you do it
yourself.
