The LCP mesage indicates that either the far end is not reponding to your LCP requests, or they are not getting out of the machine in the first place. If your connection *has* worked previously, then it is almost certainly the latter. MD> 4. We are, but the pppoatm module is for connecting to kernel ATM devices with ppp. pppoa[23] does this job instead. In the kernel-mode drivers, a kernel module connects to the USB device and shuffles the data to/from an ATM psuedo device. This ATM device is then connected to by the pppoatm module of pppd. In the user mode drivers, pppoa[23] connects to the USB device and presents a psuedo-tty device to pppd. In theory, there is no reason why there shouldn't be a mix of these two ideas, with a user-mode driver presenting an ATM device to pppd which uses pppoatm.so to communicate with it.
