It's way past that, the pipe is installed. I was just going through my
review comments from the Engineer and there was an issue with a sprinkler
head and a light in one of the Telecom rooms and his note was to
"coordinate head location with light"

Thanks for the 2-L's issue.....

Omit, note as directed by Architect, and submit.
If bounced, submit COR.
Only question to ask the Architect, if bounced, is clean agent or A.S. (wet
or PA?) (or both CA and AS) to be included in the COR, and who's got the
detection?

This is one where it may be wise to simply confirm direction from Arch in
writing, and play dumb installing contractor. After all, they're the
Professionals.

You could, if you desire to minimize schedule impact, copy the AHJs on the
confirmation to the Architect to telegraph the blow.

PS- John Marshall, first chief justice of the US Supreme Court, has 2 L's.
Fire marshals do not rise to that.

The design criteria on the drawings are:
1. International Fire Prevention Code with North Carolina Amendments 2.
NFPA-13 3. Local Fire Marshall 4. County Building Officials

Brian,

What is the adopted building code in this jurisdiction ? That's the
starting point.

Subject: Telecom & Data Rooms

I'm being told by an Architect we are doing a school with that I need to
remove any heads from the Telecom & Data rooms and that I'm not allowed to
run any pipe above those ceilings either. He is basing it on the provisions
for eliminating heads in and Electrical room with a 2 hour fire wall, am I
missing something? I am not aware of Telecom & Data rooms falling into the
same category as an Electrical room. I have approved plans from the AHJ with
the heads shown in those rooms and omitted from the Electrical rooms. Any
thoughts?
