I just got my '08 #25 book and pdf and saw that Roland. I included 5 due to low points mostly prior to seeing that but now having enough, I plan to use double valves and plugs, similar to a drum drip. I also included venting valves with plugs at the tops (multi-riser system fed from the Bsmnt.) and signage for the EOL not to use it to test due to glycerin and to use the new one on the water side of the glycerin check. I'm going to put a separate pumping fill in addition to the fill cup which won't help get glycerin up 3 floors. I plan to look into making up a suction tube to use with the drums and will probably have to use a transfer pump off that to a hydrostatic pump to get it within 10# of system pressure. Plus I have to find a source for a little nitrogen to top off the bladder as it comes almost flat. AND I have to find a new source for a refractor (mine got stolen), I can't seem to find anyone that makes one to test glycol (both types) and glycerin, I need one for glycerin for this job. Oh-no o-rings on this system, all heads are 2006. Tom
it may be worth reminding them that the requirements are on antifreeze system have finally been modifid to reflect the needed level of maintenance. For instance, a test connection at the end of the system and additional ones per 100 gal AND if any point has too low a concentration that the WHOLE system must be drained to modify the concentration. There is also the issue of increased potential for leaks. A perfectly tight wet pipe system can leak with antifreeze solutions. The morale of the story is - proceed with the appropriate CYA contract language.
