I don't have a lot of information, but they indicate that the street
pressure has been above 250 as recorded by their fire alarm system.
Don't know if it is a spike or how long it lasts. Thanks for the
responses. I will have to get more information.

Subject: RE: Pressure Regulating Valve

The data is a little loose but you could be looking at a PRV, a relief
or a
tank, or combinations of those.
What's really happening?
Tom

Wouldn't this problem be solved by installing a pressure relief valve
like
we use for gridded systems? Is there anti-freeze in these systems?
Backflow preventer and no expansion chamber?

Garth

I have a facility in North Carolina who is having pressure fluctuations
in the water supply such that their CPVC systems are bursting due to
overpressures. They have recorded pressures that easily exceed the
175lb limits of the systems.

What would the recommendations of the forum be to keep the pressures
down to a reasonable level? (Pressure regulating valve?)

Will any hydraulics analysis be necessary when any device is installed
in the system?

Anyone in North Carolina want to contact me concerning this work?

Thanks in advance.
