I think the only requirement in NFPA is in 14.

Subject: 100ft from FDC to hydrant?

Got a comment about locating a fire hydrant no more than 75-100 ft from the 
riser FDC.

I know I've seen this requirement somewhere but for some reason I can not 
locate it in NFPA or the IBC or IFC.  Does anyone know where this is  
right off the top of their head?
