We are installing a sprinkler system in a new warehouse. The structural engineer is saying that the point load for hanging with a top beam clamp is only 50 pounds max. Our grid main piping well exceeds this limit. Does this point load seem low? Can you hang a trapeze hanger from the bottom of a truss purlin? The truss purlin is not the same as a typical bar joist. Anyone run in to this problem?
