Or just qualify your proposal that storage can't exceed 12' and go OH 2 with EC heads in that 40' tall box.....
In April 2010 FM Global is going to slim down the selection of heads to: Storage Non-storage Residential Special They won't be differentiating between suppression and control modes, and several other quantum changes in an effort to simplify design criteria. And I'm sure cutting down to 50 pages of rules instead of 500 will simplify, just seems odd to mix ESFR and CMSA since we're used to using esfr to limit duration of supply especially when there's a tank, avoiding auto HS vents, etc. Sounded like if we use K25 CMSA storage head we design same # and EHP as if ESFR. The uber conservatives turning us on our ear again! Depending on the commodity you might be directed to use OH2 or EH1. Depending on what's being stored NFPA 13 might not even be the applicable Standard. Storage requires some research and a lot of questions. Craig L. (I know not all storage is necessarily OH) Are we creating a new category? LH, OHI, OHII, EXI EHII and Storage? Not that I think that's a bad idea.
