News on the vote from WJAC:
From: Raymond W. Lonabaugh, CFPS Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager National Fire Sprinkler Association, Inc. ------------------------------------ As you may recall WJAC TV in Johnstown, PA ran a negative story on the residential sprinkler adoption in Pennsylvania. The reporter first interviewed a builder then Assistant Fire Chief Jason Ober of the Richland Township Fire Company both of whom spoke negatively about the residential sprinkler adoption. Yesterday the TV station ran a poll, which closed last night with the results 1069 in favor versus 165 opposed to sprinklers in new homes. Ed Mann, PA Fire Commissioner, got in contact with Assistant Fire Chief Ober who made the remarks. The chief now claims he was always in favor of sprinklers. John Waters, Co-Chair PA Residential Fire Sprinkler Coalition, has sent the reporter documentation to rebut her report. Tim Knisely, Co-Chair PA Residential Sprinkler Coalition is attempting to get a rebuttal on the same TV station. It is our hope that in the future the reporter will go after both sides of an issue. --------------------------- Nice.
