Agree - I remember reading that a tire will leak faster with air than filled with nitrogen. Not much of a difference in time, but the nitrogen leaked slower.

What comes into play is the utmost importance of installing a very tight sprinkler system, including grooved couplings listed for dry service. The owner generally won't complain if the air compressor runs more than it should, but when he's replacing a N bottle once/week or more often, he can turn grumpy.
