Top, if it is not proprietary, could you let me know if one valve logic was
the cause? I should have been specific with the question, and could have
been because the project is detail design for an architect, not shop drawing
for a contractor. I like the muscle car drum drip of 1961 since I saw a
picture, but imagine a parking structure with an immense glass atrium and
monumental stair case leading to a fine arts theater-- if golf cart drum
drips work, this would be the place to use them. No piping below the bottom
of the beams, every beam sleeved at mid span and mid stem, long mains- this
means about 6 drum drips per main. Instead of dropping out of the main,
running across the drive lane and dropping down to an eye-sore, I thought
one valve to a 4x0-3 'welded drum' and a plug in the bottom plate. A bottom
valve would end up below the plane of the BOB. The space is nearly
temperature controlled and attended enough to keep the homeless moving. If
you painted these things different colors, the patrons would think you hung
ornaments to celebrate the opening of the latest play. Thank you and
everyone for the great feedback- and Cecil to save 2000 extra e-mails,
thanks for the floor control check valve education.

Looks like there could be a lot of tripped dry systems if we do not
follow correct procedure. I am out in New Mexico today on a dry system
freeze up causing a million in damage that was probably caused by one
valve logic by a maintenance person who was trained but could of easily
taken a short cut such as one valve.

30 gallon drum welded to a hand truck with a hose bib welded toward the
bottom so we could run a hose to the nearest floor drain. These building
were mostly open to the elements so they had a lot of floor drains.
