This will nice for upgrading existing system densities-- tying the ends of
adjacent tree system mains and lines together-- tying the secondary grid
main into the bulk main of an adjacent grid, etc...

Subject: RE: System Area Size

Matt,

The Committee is currently considering many proposals to change the smaximum
size of a sprinkler system. FM and Telgian and others have submitted
proposals that ask for larger areas on systems. Stay tuned to see where the
2013 edition ends up.

It should be recognized that the above is my opinion as a member of the
NFPA, and has not been processed as a formal interpretation in accordance
with the NFPA Regulations Governing Committee Projects and should therefore
not be considered, nor relied upon, as the official position of the the
NFPA, nor any of their technical committees.

Sincerely,

Cecil Bilbo

area to 60,000 sf. Has anyone heard about NFPA expanding their allowable
system areas?
