Subject: RE: Combination Standpipes

Travis-

Building isn’t built yet but shop drawings were done and submitted for
approval. (2) stories, (6) Zones, (4) stairwells, (4) remote hose valve
cabinets, etc. Off the top of my head I’m thinking all the Mains will have to
be reconfigured which will also affect some branchlines, new calc’s of course,
most likely changes to pipe sizes, etc. Just trying to get an idea of how much
additional design time will be needed for cost.

Hundreds of variables. Construction. BIM. Work installed already. Number of
standpipes. Calc and pipe size changes.

Hypothetical question:

You’ve completely designed a (2) story school, 6 zones with a pump, and now the
owner/architect has decided to had combination standpipes to the job. What
would be your thoughts on the amount of work involved?
