Why does a 2-story bldg. need a standpipe? Does your current design use the stairs for your sprinkler risers?
You'll may need a different pump due to pressure and possibly flow rate increase for standpipes versus sprinkler flow. If you design system risers routed in chases or other avenues for distribution now you need to be providing combination standpipe risers in the stairs. Why is an architect dictating what you provide as far as being a combined standpipe/riser? Sometimes it makes better sense to leave the standpipes separate from the sprinklers. So there are a lot of things to consider. Or just throw out what you did and start over and bill them EXTRA. Craig L.
