Situation is a concrete deck with min. ½ plywood sheathing below it followed by 2x8 wood joists with (2) layers of 5/8 type X gyp. The ceiling below is 1 5/8 metal joists with 1 layer of 5/8 type X gyp , attached directly to ceiling joists. ( We have roughly 12 from bottom of (2) layers of gyp to top of ceiling framing.) Because the 2x8 are covered with 2 layers of 5/8 gyp can I consider this space non/limited combustible per 8.15.1.2.2? (BTW the architect is calling this out as a 1 hour rated assembly.)
